Unresponsive Game Masters of Flyff PH

I have reasons to believe that the GM of the game Fly for Fun here in the Philippines is being unresponsive to the needs of their players.
First is the connectivity issue for the ISP that their players is using. The ISP SmartBro is now experiencing connectivity issues where the players of this game literaly cannot login to the game. Take note that this same ISP is used to play other online games and not having problems with it.
This can be a small problem but the thing is non of theseĀ Game Masters has given a time to explain the issue to their players. The Technical Issue section of their forum site is now flooded with rants from player and still there is no reply or any announcement about this issue.
During my Observation on the said forums, these GMs have focused in advertising the new products in their item malls. And the patch that they apply in their game client doesn’t seem to fix these connectivity issues but just the new item for the mall.
Another thing that i noticed in the forum is for them not having proffessional Forum Managers here is an example of his post. The link clearly states that he is a Forum Manager.
The game is good and it is a game that I tried to play again after giving it up because of some issues they had before ( Lot of Bugs in game ) . But after giving time to let them fix whatever problems they have, it doesn’t seem they have fixed the most important things in the game, their Customer Support.
huh. hindi naman GM si Morgan
yes but he is a Forum Moderator. I said here unproffessional Forum Moderator. Please read first before making such comment
0_o the GM responds whenever you pm them… Soe cannot be contacted because their inboxes are flooded w/ whatever pms… try pm GM Charon, he shall surely give an answer
and I think the costumer support part is not only Flyff’s problem but it’s the problem of other LU! games as well
dun sa unprofessional reply, i think morgan was just replying to the topic, not to the ppl inside the thread. wala naman problem dun, you’re just exaggerating. dahil sa post na yan eh, unprofessional na kagad. he’s clearly interacting with the players.
as for the gms, i know they can’t please everyone. pero OA naman yung term mo na unresponsive. you can think a better term than that.
I don’t get it really. Some people don’t like it when the forum moderators are formal. And now someone’s saying that an FM is being unprofessional for posting like a normal forumer.
Also, I doubt there’s nothing being done. Sure, perhaps you don’t see something happening but I think they’re doing their best. They can’t fix everything right away IMO.
This is just an opinion.
The moderators definitely lacks training and professionalism. It is due to the fact that the qualifications for being one ain’t really that tough. Slight knowledge on standard English is sufficient enough for them. There’s no requirement for a background on basic psychology or anything that would help them understand the needs and reactions of the customers. As a result, they tend to hire unprofessional, non-technical, and not to mention “sarcastic” moderators. I wouldn’t include all of them of course because some of them are really doing their best.
Another thing that concerns me is the lack of personnel that would bridge the infos between PH flyff’s technical crew (specifically the IT team) and the gaming community.
saka may quota ata ang mga Moderators sa pag close ng thread
saka masyado silang madaming “opinion” para maging FM.
So you, yourself, are using SmartBro? You’ve tested it on Flyff and “other online games” in the same situation, same pc, same bandwidth usage? You’ve recorded these results and analyzed them?
Game Moderators are not responsible for connectivity problems. Those in charge of technical issues are, oh I dunno, the tech support team. The Forum Moderators (it seems you aren’t clear on the difference between FORUM moderators and GAME moderators) aren’t responsible for tech issues either. They merely deliver related news.
You said you observed the forums for a while. Why didn’t you mention your username? How do we know you’ve visited the forum at all? Hell, you don’t even know the difference between GMs and FMs and their respective assignments. You also said that patches only added mall items and did nothing for connectivity. I guess that means that out of the 1000 people you tallied for low connectivity in your study, none of them reported an increase in performance after you checked with them after each update, right? Wait… wait… there was no study.
Now for professionalism. Personally, I find the odd sarcastic remark or joke is acceptable, even amusing. It shows that they’re people too and that they’re not afraid to socialize and make friends with the community. It’s good PR. It makes them friendly and approachable. It makes them one of us.
Lastly, there are hardly any bugs left and certainly not any that would destroy the gaming experience. How long did you give them? With your superior knowledge of programming, connectivity and MMOs, did you expect them to solve all the problems in mere days? I don’t think so.
Again, GMs do not handle tech support. You might want to think carefully before you go pointing fingers at people. This article is written based on faulty and insufficient information and experience. Not to mention bad grammar.
just so you know, forum mods, they dont need to be professional. they’re still the same old forumer the used to be, just with perks and BIG responsibilities. lalo na with forumers who are so darn hard-headed. ^^
and the GM’s are only supposed to be, from the word itself, moderating the game. wala naman sila magagawa if their company, LU for this matter, want to advertise a WHOLE LOT. may technical team, contacted through their hotlines or CS page, kaya nga pinagfafile ng ticket diba? WALA talaga mangyayari kung rant lang ng rant dun sa forums.
^^
Though GM/FM are not the technical persons they should close the gap between Technical Persons and players.
How long did I give them? Look at the pinned thread that talks about the smartbro connectivity issue look at the date, It’s the same problem two years ago. It was the same problem during V6 when I start playing, I left the game and when i return its still the same problem.
Maybe I should have used informal post instead of unprofessional but the way they handle and closing the thread I think there is no difference.
My grammar may stink but i guess you understood what I wrote right?
i think FM Morgan got acarried away dun sa mga items nya o mga binigay sa kanya. first thing that i notice about this FM he/she was to bulgar of her items that can be so doubtful because is there a possible way you can have a ultimate weapon + 10 for only 2 days and after 2 days you already have a ultimate bloody bow + 10? low level players and newbies can be easily be fooled around about her/his items and continue to admire this FM, but the fact is that some players dont know the probabilty of upgrading the ultimate and accessories to plus 20. this FM have a 2 pcs + 20 arek, and + 10 ultimate bloody bow for only 2 days. even an insane rich boy cannot ups this possibility to accessories and ultimate searching and making a lots of diamond for only 2 days.
this FM Morgan was so stupid that he/she did not notice that there are some higher level out there that will read his/her topic.
Hey, lookie here. I see lots of ‘em forumers. Hello guys. Well… Again, this is an opinion.
Saying that it is OK for the mods to be sarcastic because it shows their intentions to befriend the forumers ain’t a good excuse. Yes, they are humans, a pretty ancient (and not to mention, lame) argument for justifying ones behavior, but that does not erase the fact that they are employees. Goes without saying, they should be professional in handling their customers to prevent “humiliation” which may apparently lead to further mis-understanding. You should realize that they are being paid to satisfy the needs of most of the people/customers in their community. They’re not there to satisfy their ego - you can leave that luxury to the customers. There are many ways of being friendly. Being technical does not necessarily compromise PR. Fact is, it even builds up better communication and understanding between the two parties. We’re not asking them to stop saying HI. Just make the technical parts technical and not too opinionated.
They should leave a room for both technicality and opinion. There are things that can’t be resolved through opinions and there are also things that are un-answerable, and that’s the only part where opinions comes in. Unfortunately, their job includes lots of technical things… so technicality it is.
And also, there are things that people can’t understand and the only way to stop ‘em from yappin’ about it is to have someone who can explain WTF is going on in terms of “complete” details to stop the rants… or is there really something going on? What’s the progress? — Personally, I think this part’s not gonna happen. Not in a trillion years.
And to clarify something, the customer support is there to assist the customer’s needs - that’s their specialization. However, assistance does not necessarily include explanations. When it comes to explanations on why this or that occured, it is the job of those employees who has access or communication (PR) to the whole community (particularly, the forum moderators). The exact reason why english flyff’s forum is more efficient than ours is the fact that their mods are hands-on when it comes to technical stuff. I’m not asking our mods to be like that though… again, it’s not gonna happen even in a trillion years.
Anyway, my opinion does not necessarily give the author of this blog a license to rant about technical issues. In the first place, they’ve already received a reply. The only fact that sucks is the reality that connectivity issues are really hard to resolve… As my ECE friend once said, when it comes to problems on technology, technology itself is a problem - it’s an engineering motto FTW.
@RangersBlock:
Are you sure it’s just two days?
*Reading my previous posts || particularly post#12*
Good Lord, I made lots of redundancies and bad sentence construction… But hey, this is the internet so… Excuse me, Ja.
eto sana mabasa ng mga GM o iparating niyo sa kanila.. 5 days ng walang connection ang flyff at ang levelup website dito sa baguio. sana ayusin nila, pano kami mag ffile ng problem kung hindi makapasok sa levelup website.
