Grand Chase Beta Review

Grand Chase is a new online game by Level-Up Games which is currently in Beta Test. The game is an arcade style hack and slash game where up to 6 players can battle head on or by teams. Players can also join up to a party of 4 to go through dungeons in which they can complete their quest and acquire items.

This might be enough to send a party down

Graphics and Sounds are great in the sense that they are cute, The characters looks like characters in a typical anime series where the heroes is around 7 year of age but able to kick ass. The music are lively and in a fast beat, character voices complements their appearance.

Controls are easy to understand, use the directional keyboard to move around, Z to attack, holding Z will charge to execure special attacks. X makes you select an item while C uses it. A will make your char taunt. However while the controls are easy it is too simple, this makes the variation of combos limited tapping the Z buttons a couple of time until the enemy drops or just using the skills in order to pawn someone

So far there are three characters that can be used Elesis ( Knight ), Lire ( Archer ) and Arme ( Mage ) each with their own set of skills and some innate movement ability.

Grand Chase didn’t fail to offer excitement because the battle happens real time specially in Survival Mode where all six players fight for themselves in a Royal Rumble Slug Fest. The Dungeon Missons are also addicting speciall when the whole party ganging up on a boss at the end of the mission.

There are still a lot of things in the game that needs to improved. The limitation attack button in a single key is one of the things i hated, it would be better if i can string between hard and low hits. Battles tend to end very soon because there are times you can be killed in a single 5 hit combo or a single meteor shower most of the time the duration of the battles is shorter than the time spent waiting for other players. Aside from those minor flaws Grand Chase is equipped to blow your mind away.
